Dear friends of Tango Argentino!

1. „Trenzas“: This is the new CD by the tango orchestra ESTUFA CALIENTE from Basel/ Switzerland. The tango ensemble produced their second CD celebrating their 11th birthday. The title of the album and the opening song is “Trenzas”, meaning plaids. The orchestra plays new arrangements of tangoes from the 1940s and 1950s, thus they gain a new and charming design, just like a nicely made plaid.

The line-up of ESTUFA CALIENTE in TRENZAS is the one of an orquesta típica with the traditional orchestration of (at least) two bandoneons, string instruments, double-bass and piano. There is also the Argentinian singer and bandoneon player Susana Ratcliff who represents the authentic atmosphere of her home country with her clear and impressive voice.

2. Efim Jourist is a well known Russian tango musician. He has not only performed frequently within Germany, but he has also received positive critique for his CDs (Russian Rhapsody and Russisches Roulette) all over Europe.

Russisches Roulette has not been available for a while, thus we would like to present the re-release to you. This CD combines the melancholy of tango with the Russian soul. A journey to the realms of emotions, the strenght, the grief and the happiness. Finally, the CD is back! New cover design 2004:
