"Why do I always have to log in before entering the shop?"
You can only use the functions which are linked to your personal data
account when you log in first. If you are registered as a customer,
you can listen to short audio samples. If you are a member in the DyM
Club you can use all the services and advantages according to your membership level
after your login. And, of course, you only have access to your
personal data and you will be told for example your past purchases or
your wish list when you log in first.
"Cookies - yes or no?"
In general our shop also works without cookies. But in order to perform certain
processes it's indispensable to allow cookies. Take for example the wish list: this
function requires the acceptance of session cookie when entering the shop.
The session cookie then is used to check, if the
user is only legitimated to see/read or also to change/delete certain things in the wish list.
This is necessary, as otherwise everybody could delete things from other people's list ;-)
So you only need to allow temporary cookies for the shop and it will work out.
"What do you mean by 'Account'?"
Your account in our shop is not concerned with a financial account.
When we are talking about your account, we are referring to the area
which contains your personal data and which is protected by your password. This
area can only be entered by yourself. Your delivery addresses, your
wish list, your current orders or past orders and some more functions,
which are only important for your personal access to the shop, are
linked to this data account.
"Why do I have to login in each browser?"
Counter-question: How do you create the new Tab?
If created by "Open in new Tab" with a click on a link the session
is continued (tested in Safari, Opera and Firefox). If you create a
new empty Tab, enter or copy the URL it won't work - it can't work
because otherwise unknown pages, that are open in other Tabs,
could view your login cookie - which would be a huge security risk -
imagine you have your Online Banking open in one Tab and a hacker site in
another Tab :-)
Audios und Videos
"What ist the format and length of the audio samples?"
The information concerning the availability of audio samples is
indicated below the image of the product. There, you can also see the
length of the samples, namely 20 sec (192kb), 45 sec
(mostly 192kb) or full length (96kb) of the individual title. If this
information is grey and not coloured, you are either not logged in,
or you are not authorised to hear this title in the corresponding
length. Visitors with registration can listen to 20sec-Samples,
DyM-Club-Basic members can also listen to 45 sec and DyM-Club-Premium members can
listen to any sound sample including the full track length. So if you
are interested in long audio pleasure, join the DyM-Club. A Premium
membership is only 2,49 Euro per month.
"Why don't you have audio samples from a lot of the new CDs?"
Some record labels want to stop the free distribution of
their music by adding a copy protection to their CDs.
They haven't realized yet, that in the end they sell even less music.
We can't provide audio samples from copy protected CDs.
So you have to decide if you want to buy a pig in a poke or not.
"I'm logged in but still can't listen to audio samples. What's the reason?"
Please check the box on the top right: The "Account status" tells you
if you are really logged in. If you read "You are registered", but you
can still not hear any audio samples, please tell us by email and
don't forget the following details:
- Which CDs did you want to listen to?
- Which browser in which version do you use?
- Which operating system in which version are you using?
We will do our best to remove possible errors from our system as soon
as possible in all involved persons' interest.
"Why can't I watch DVDs or videos in the shop?"
This would be a nice feature, but right now it still exceeds our possibilities.
Shipping
"I live outside of the EU. Do I still have to pay VAT (Value Added Tax)?"
Of course not. In order to not work with two different price lists (with and without VAT)
in the international mail-order trade, we set the net prices for Non-EU
clients on the same amount as the gross prices for EU clients.
As a balance, we lowered the shipping costs by the exact amount
we additionally take for VAT. This is why e.g. shipments surpassing a specific amount
are free of shipping costs or we charge shipping costs that are considerably lower than
our originated shipping costs. (This applies for consumers. Merchants are always
supplied on the basis of the net price lists...)
"How is the status of the availability displayed in the shop?"
The availability of a product is indicated below the product's image:: available right now,
delivery within 2 to 12 weeks only for DyM Club Premium members, not available.
These displays are updated at least once a day. The displays error rate
is very marginal. Nevertheless, another customer can have ordered the last in stock-available CD an
hour before you placed your order - but this hardly ever happens...
"Why do you only offer the backorder service for Premium Club
members. Don't you want to sell anything?"
Roughly speaking, yes. Or did you think that we actually earn money by
selling our products? It is not profitable any more to look after such a
large repertoire of a special music genre, to not concentrate merely
on the top sellers and to deal with hundreds of small suppliers. Thus,
the acquisition and the shipment of the products are service offers.
And the members of the DyM Club are the ones who make this offer
possible in the first place.
"Why are there products in your shop which I cannot buy, even
being a Premium member?"
Our music sites are mainly a music library specialized in genres. You can look for
a product, get information and if we can order a product for you, we
will happily do so. If you cannot find an "Add to cart" button, then
we cannot supply you with the product. But maybe, you can find it
somewhere else or second hand. In any case, we can already tell you
that the product actually exits or used to exist and we can offer you some
information about the product.
"Why do you charge supplementary postage on backorders?"
First of all let me address some general issues considering the backorders. The handling of backorders is very
time-consuming and costly - especially as we cooperate with numerous small suppliers
who not always don't meet their delivery date. They hardly inform us about the availability of a product, although we
constantly ask them to keep us informed whether they still have the product in stock.
In case of backorders, we can't do without the shipping costs - apart from the fact that most the shipping we charge
are calculated in a way that we still have a part of the costs on our side in any case...
With your order you can specify don't want backorder handling. Or you inform us, that you want all non-available
products shipped at the same time. Of course it can happen, that one CD is available in a week but is not shipped
because the second is available only after three months. Please give us detailed instructions.
Be sure - the handling of backorders is not an easy issue for us and we try as hard as we can!
"Do you inform me if an ordered product is no longer available?"
Not automatically. If the product is listed in our shop, we proceed from the assumption that
we can get you this product. If we don't see a chance for that, the product is taken out of the shop.
By using our search option you can find out if there's still hope...
"Why don't you ship by letter post or small parcel? That would save postage!"
In this case, who is liable if the the goods get lost? Letter posts or small parcels are not insured and the
shipments can't be tracked. As letter posts within Germany normally get to their addressee,
you can choose to receive small shipments (at your own risk) as letter posts.
Unfortunately, this is not possible for international shipments...
"Why did you sent out the product by certified letter charging the whole postage although I
chose 'Shipment by letter post' ?"
If we failed to notice it - sorry! Of course we will credit you the difference in postage.
In case you failed to notice something, please notice that we ship a maximum of 4 single CDs as letter post.
If your order contains more than four CDs or also includes other articles than CDs, we automatically
charge the standard shipping costs.
"Why did the order confirmation indicated full shipping costs although I chose 'Shipment by letter post'?"
Don't worry. The shop can't identify, if you really ordered up to 4 single-CDs and therefore automatically charges
the full shipping costs. But the invoice won't be made out automatically.
Of course we consider your shipment option and only charge you
the reduced shipping costs, if the prerequisites are met.
"Why don't you send out the CDs without cover/sleeve? This would also reduce shipping costs!"
That's right. We would like to save ourselves and you the shipping costs! There are several reasons for reasons for us
not to unwrap the CDs and simply put them in an envelope. Apart from the fact that this would be
a special expense on our side, the costumers, who like to use jewel boxes as archives for the CDs, also
would have a bigger expense. And we would take away the chance to give back
CDs ordered by mistake. This is only possible in case of original packing...

"I own a dance school and would like to sell CDs.
What do I need to do?"
Just request our conditions per e-mail for resellers!
"I have produced a CD and would like to spread it around.
What do I need to do? "
First of all you should decide if need us as a sales partner for the german market or
if you only want to offer the finished CD. If the CD shouldn't be finished yet,
we can discuss a managing contract. However, it's very important that you specify
your inquiry as detailed as possible and tell us what you wish and what you have to offer.
This also includes information about your planned marketing measures and possible tours.
"I would like to produce a CD. What do I need to consider?"
First of all: great that you confront this question! We are offered a lot of finished
productions, that merely have a chance on the market, because the producers simply
didn't ask themselves certain questions in the beginning. But we are not capable of
providing the service of a production consulting including several
marketing- and legal issues for free.
Depending on the expense, we can provide production consulting and -assistance
starting from 250.- Euro (basic consulting). Just ask us -
you can save a lot of time and money!
"When can I contact you by phone?"
In general we are available on work days from 10 to 18 p.m. and Saturdays from 12 to 16 p.m.
If the mailbox starts, it means that we are very busy right now.
But we give you a call-back as soon as possible.
