Eine neue Compilation mit den Hits, die die Menschen Lateinamerikas und der Karibik bewegen - und auch hierzulande ein paar Leute. Die Interpreten sind uns von den ersten sieben CDs bekannt: Karibe, Melody, Batido House Band, Latinos Band und einige mehr, die die gängigen Hits und Rhythmen von »La Bomba« bis »La Novela« locker aus dem Handgelenk schütteln. Das ist recht nett und mag auch durchaus der ausreichende Soundtrack zum Abkühlen bei einem Bier in einer schattigen Strandbar sein. Es ist aber, abgesehen von den Label- Entdeckungen John Lozano und Paquito Baron, die jeweils nur mit einem Song vertreten sind, auf Dauer nicht ganz das Niveau, das sich der sprichwörtliche Latin-Aficionado versteht. Solch gehobenen Ansprüchen entspricht allerdings CD Vol.10, die erstmals einer einzigen Band, Las Estrellas del Ayer, gewidmet ist.
