The project EL ZORRO, was born in 1995 when the Swiss Martin Richard Lehner travelled to Cuba and met Gustavo "El Buda" (trombone player). Thanks their identical musical interests, they soon started a friendship which would be the origin of EL ZORRO. In 2002 they had the idea to record with the best Cuban musicians, but it took some time, until they released the first EL ZORRO album in 2003.
