Sein 25 - jähriges Bühnenjubiläum feierte er im Sommer dieses Jahres und nun zu Weihnachten beschenkt er uns mit der CD 'Pal Pueblo' - Tito Rojas 'El Gallo' (Der Kumpel) aus Puerto Rico.
Seine CD's kann man eigentlich immer kaufen ohne nachzudenken (oder reinzuhören). Ein oder zwei Salsa- Hits wird man auf jeder finden. So auch diesmal. Absolut überragend für mich ist Track 8 'Sin ti' - eine Mimi Ibarra Komposition. Leider auch Ihre einzige auf dieser CD. 'Sin ti' hat alles was einen Tito Rojas - Hit auszeichnet: Tempo, einen einprägsamen Chorus und einen starken Instrumental-Part. Spektakulär die Solo- Geige (scheint zur Mode zu werden - siehe Marc Anthony ).
Die anderen Hit-Aspiranten: Der zuerst als Single erschienene Track 1 'Lloro' und Track 4 'Es mi mujer'. Sehr schön auch 'Soñando con tu nombre' und der Titel 'Ayudame olvidarla' wenn er denn mal in 'Fahrt' gekommen ist. Einige Titel haben meiner Meinung (für Tänzer) unnötige Längen - sprich es fehlen die Höhepunkte.
Und auch ein wenig störend: Der typische MP - Sound. Man nehme z.B. die letzten MP - Produktionen von Mimi Ibarra ('Compositora, Cantante, Mujer') oder Tito Gomez ('Volver') und denke sich die Stimmen weg. Klingt irgendwie alles gleich. Glücklicherweise dominiert auf dieser CD aber die ausdrucksstarke Stimme von Tito Rojas.
Schlußresumé: Solide Hausmannskost mit 2 oder 3 Highlights.
