		In Havana: Ruy López - Nussa Lekszycki For sure, Ruy is one of the most experienced drummer and percussionist who teaches in Havana today. He was born in 1957 in Mexico, then came to Cuba in 1958 and later graduated from the Instituto Superior de Arte. During the last 20 years, he has worked with many renowned Cuban musicians and bands, for example with Pedro Luis Ferrer, Ramón Valle, Santiago Feliú and Ernán López - Nussa. He also joined them on various European and Latin American tours. Besides, his discography lists artists like Gema y Pavel, José María Vitier, Bobby Carcasés, Roberto Fonseca, Felipe Cabrera and William Vivanco. Ruy teaches for example at the music school 'Amadeo Roldán' in Havana. He stands out for his capacity to empathise with his students when teaching. Intensive knowledge of the different rhythms, claves and music genres make his class an unforgettable experience. On his side are the musicians of the band 'Temperamento'.

But there is also training in polyrhythm and co-ordination.

Ruy challenges the whole person in class and he is open to all kinds of questions and suggestions. He also shows interest in the students' requests concerning a certain emphasis in class. He can give valuable information on good jazz concerts, and maybe you will have the chance to see his band "Temperamento" live, Ibrahim Ferrer's supporting act on his last European tour.
