Havana - a look behind the scenes

If you want to know more about Cuba and if you don't want to get these impressions from through the windows of a tourist bus, we are happy to organise qualified, thematic tours in addition to the booking of your basic travel package. We tested most of the tours presented here, and you can be sure that you are going to receive exciting background information, which is hard to get normally. Tour 1. City tour historic Havana

City walk with explanations of the historic and traditional sights of the old part of Havana. Also recommendable if it is not your first time in Havana ...

Tour 2. City tour by car through the modern Havana

Plaza de la Revolución, Cemetery of Havana, Universtiy, Copellia, as well as visiting the most important streets close to the Plaza de la Revolución.

Tour 3. Santeria

A Santera (female priest) explains the Afro-Cuban religion Yoruba and deals with the religious specific features and the deities. After the basic programme, which lasts about 2 hours, you have a personal meeting with the Babalao, who will talk with you about your past and future. This part of the programme does not have a time limit.
Duration approx. 3hrs, price for one person 85.- Euro, for two persons booking together 120.- Euro.

Tour 4. Project community "Cayo Hueso" in Centro Habana

An insight into Cuban urban culture. You visit several social centres (kindergarten, nursing home), a family doctor, as well as the Alley Hammal (Callejon de Hammel) - a place of the arts.
Duration approx. 3hrs, price (1-2 participants) 95.- Euro.

Tour 5. The health system

An insight into the Cuban health system. You visit a family doctor (conversations and explanations of primary health care and medical prophylaxis), a policlinic (round tour and explanation of the population's health care and treatment) and of a kindergarten for mentally and physically handicapped children.

Tour 6. Following the trail of Ernest Hemingway

You follow the trail of Ernest Hemingway with a personal guide and you visit places like the Finca La Vigia in Santa Maria del Rosario, Cojimar and the Hotel Ambos Mundos, where the writer used to stay.

Tour 7. Guanabacoa and Regla

An exciting insight into two centres of Afro-Cuban religion and culture.

Visit to the Rum factory Bocoy, a tobacco factory and to the music conservatory in Guanabacoa.
