Spanish in Havana and Santiago de Cuba

The classes take place in a renovated convent in the restored part of Havana Vieja (the old part of town)and they are tailor-made for our guests.

The Spanish language is taught in a laid back atmosphere and the course is designed to teach you as much as possible during your short stay in Cuba.

One part of the classes take place in a class-room, another part consists in practical training in everyday life. The teacher takes you to the local markets, to a bar or they take a stroll with you in order to explain Cuban life. Thus, you will get an intense and practical approach to the Spanish language.

Beginners should not be afraid: Most of the teachers have a university diploma and they also speak some German, English or French.

Classes (4 x 50 min.) take place in the morning. The individual instruction guarantees the maximum learning success. You can also decide about the quantity of theoretical and practical teaching. We can also organize mini groups for participants with the same language knowledge when they apply for the course together.

We will provide you with the class material, but you can also bring your own material. On request, we can also give you a certificate for the course.

Courses with accommodation in Havana

We selected the best hotels and private accommodations we could find in Cuba for you. The cost effectiveness in Cuba is not very good, and travellers get more for their money in other countries of the world. But Cuba is Cuba and in the end you support a country with your money in which the population's standard of living is better than in any other Latin American or Caribbean nation. We design travel packages in cooperation with local partners which offer the optimum cost effectiveness possible in Cuba. We test which private accomodation offers the best breakfast and which hotel was renovated recently. We make our selection on the basis of information you will hardly get in any travel guide.

We chose different price categories for our pre-selection of service packages. The offers are calculated for a stay of 14 nights. They are examples. You can decide the length of your stay and your travel programme for Cuba. Please ask us for your individual travel programme and feel free to get some advice first.

We recommend the Hotel **Caribbean/Lido in the historic section of Havana close to the Capitolio. You can best explore the city walking from here. The location is ideal, in the centre of Havana.

		Casa Particular In Havana

If you don't like to stay in a hotel, you will feel comfortable in one of our Private accommodations (Casas Particulares). We work with legal landlords who we have known for years now. Thus, you avoid trouble when you arrive in Cuba.

All the apartments offered are clean and safe. The landlords are friendly and helpful. The guests are independent but they get help when needed. The rooms include a bath (sometimes shared with other rooms), often with air condition and sometimes with a safe.

We mainly offer private accommodation near Capitolio or in Vedado, a part of Havana belonging to the central parts of town. There are hotels close to the houses where you can usually use the pool and get refreshments even if you don't stay at the hotel.

Playas del Este Der Strand

We recommend the Aparthotel **Las Terrazas, located at 20km east of Havana. The hotel is plain. The apartment consists of a living room with kitchen and a bedroom. There are apartments with two or three bedrooms for families. There is a pool, a restaurant and a supermarket very close. The masseur at the hotel is very good - just try it! We recommend to book a hired car for travelling to the course location. The prices for a taxi to Havana range from 20-25 CUC.

		Apartment Independent accommodation

If you would like to live in Havana Vieja, you will love our Apartments. They are located close to the Casa de la Musica Centro Havanna in Galeano. The distance to the sea and to the Capitolio is 300m. An excellent downtown location, which is still relatively quiet although located in the city centre, because the houses on the opposite side are not very high.

Equipment: All apartments with living room, kitchen and bathroom. TV, air condition, fridge and washing machine available. You can book apartments with one or two bedrooms. Spacious terrace (balcony).

Cubans are not allowed to rent the entire apartment, thus, the owner usually stays in one of the side rooms but is absent as far as possible. You can still ask him if needed and he will make you breakfast...

Information on other apartments of a higher category, for example with your own parking space and pool access in Miramar on request.

Offer 3: Superior

We recommend two high quality hotels right in the centre of Havana Vieja (the old part of town). The 4-star-Hotel Telegrafo , which is unspectacular from the outside, but the inner construction is quite convincing. The architecture combines the original construction of the 19th century with modern building standards. The rooms are spacious and comfortabel. You can book one of the nine Junior Suites for an additional charge on request.

Offers in Santiago de Cuba

Language classes in Santiago de Cuba are mainly designed for participants of the elementary and advanced level. There are four hours of class daily and they consist of a theoretical as well as a practical part.

You will usually receive individual instruction unless there is a group of students with the same level.

Our teachers have longtime experience in presenting Cuba's language and culture to people with no knowledge of the Spanish language.

Spanish course without accommodation

It is also possible to book a course in Havana or in Santiago de Cuba without accommodation. The five-day-course (5 x 4 x 50min) costs 212.- EUR, the ten-day-course (10 x 4 x 50min) costs 319.- EUR.
