Hired car in Havana

If you want to have a closer look at Cuba after having joined one of our basic programs, you should hire a car. There are petrol stations in every bigger city and along the motorways. The price for petrol is about 1 Euro per litre at the moment. The cars we offer can only be picked up in Havana, but you can also hand over the cars in one of the cities mentioned below for a small surcharge (collection fee).

We can provide two types of cars: “Economico” (for example Hyundai Atos, Daihatsu Cuore) or “Turistico” (for example Hyundai Elantra, Toyota Yaris, Hyundai Accent 2001, Peugeot 206). In order to travel comfortably during longer journeys we recommend the category “Turistico”.

The price of your car is the price of the corresponding car category plus Euro (to be paid once):

“Economico” per day: Euro
“Turistico” per day: Euro

The prices indicated include a fully comprehensive insurance with a co-insurance of CUC. No kilometre limitation. You pay the price of the petrol of the filled-up petrol tank when picking up the car. Then you can give the car back with an empty tank. All the cars belong to one of the biggest Cuban car hire firms, thus you will not have any problems finding service points all over Cuba.

Booking procedure: You book with us, and you receive a confirmation of your booking and the invoice as soon as we get the confirmation from Cuba. We will send you the vouchers with which you can pick up the car in Havana on receipt of payment. The vouchers will give you all the necessary information concerning your hired car. Please note that there is only a limited contingent of rental cars, thus you should book in good time (minimum 3 months in advance!), especially in peak season.

We only make arrangements for car rentals if the booking includes other services of Danza y Movimiento Travels.
Minimum age for hiring a car: 21 years
Driving license: National driving license, at least one year old
Extra driver: Has to be registered (once + approx. CUC)
Deposit: CUC to be deposed cash or by credit card security
Collection fees: from Varadero CUC; Trinidad CUC; Holguin CUC; Guardalavaca CUC; Santiago CUC
