1. Portugal, Brazil, Cape Verde Islands
2. Alcántara
3. Jagun

1. Musical treasures from Portugal, Brazil and the Cape Verde Islands...

... all come - at least in this case - from incredibly good female singers!

To begin with, there is Carmen Souza, who unfolds her refined chant over Afro-Latin jazz and Capeverdean and other African rhythms. In this way she provides for extremely easygoing grooves and light hearts!
My personal favorite is: "Afri Ká" (Track 2 on "Protegid").
Two albums of Carmen Souza's we've got right now available for download:
Carmen Souza - Protegid (Download mp3/FLAC)
Carmen Souza - Verdade (Download mp3/FLAC)

Quite as groovy is Lygia Campos' "Meu Nome é Brasil" (mp3/FLAC), a cheerful, warm-hearted homage to the live style and the music from her homeland! And what would be more appropriate for that purpose than an excellent selection of all which Brazilian music has to offer stylistically? ...sometimes a little bit more bossa, in other moments a bit more samba or maybe some Afro-grooves, Ambient and even rock.

From different musical corner reaches Dulce Pontes, one of the renovators of Fado, blessed with a truly stunning and multifaceted voice! her music is dominated by stirring ballads. Wether on "El Corazon tiene tres Puertas" (mp3/FLAC), a live recording from Istanbul or on "Momentos" (mp3/FLAC), which assembles the most substantial moments of her 20-year-long carrier: this music will get under your skin!!!

Likewise from Portugal are Dazkarieh, who spread an energetic mood with "New Portuguese Folk-Rock", a style that lives on  Distortion, Electro and diverse effects as well as on influences from various Folk music styles - from Greece and Galicia to Great Brittain: Dazkarieh - Ruido do Silencio (Download mp3/FLAC)

2. Alcántara

The brothers Rafael and Victor Alcántara are the centerpiece of the Formación Alcántara. Especially with their instruments of choice - piano and sax - they accomplish some incredible artwork: "Vive la Vida" (mp3/FLAC), the musical realization of their experiences with and in Spain. But between instrumental versions they even perform as vocalists!

In addition we have the first solo album of Rafael Alcántara, with wonderful sax solos and complex arrangements!
Rafael Alcántara - Aqui y Ahora (Download mp3/FLAC)

3. Jagun

Eva Jagun undertakes a brief musical journey around the world with her lovely voice on "My Blue Hour" (mp3/FLAC) - most popular destination: the tropical climes of Latin America. By the way: "Blue" cannot refer to her mood, 'cause this is always sunny!

And with that the presentation of our latest download news comes to an end - at least for the time being!
'Cause we are already involved in negotiations about further download deals and surely there will be more news to announce quite soon!

Best regards from Hamburg!
