From a family of musicians, Jesús has been one of the most important pianists in contemporary Latin Jazz. After a long and successful career playing in orchestras like the Charanga Rubalcaba, Chappottín y sus Estrellas, la Orquesta Aragón and la Charanga Havana All Stars, Jesús then recorded a solo album entitled "Estoy Aquí" which won the Cubadisco prize for Best Latin Jazz album in 2001.
