Mit seiner bahnbrechenden Mixtur aus Tango und Elektro-Beats erschloss das Gotan Project vor zwei Jahren neue musikalische Horizonte. Nun bringt auch der Bajofondo Tango Club Samples von Piazzolla und Beiträge junger Künstler aus Buenos Aires mit Drum&Bass, House und Dub unter einen Hut. Hinter dem Geniestreich steckt Gustavo Santaolalla, der auch für den Soundtrack zu dem Kultfilm "Amores Perros" verantwortlich zeichnet. Es ist nur eine Frage der Zeit, bis dieses Konzeptalbum bei Fans ähnliche Beliebtheit geniessen wird wie der Dauerbrenner "La Revancha del Tango".

Nach Latin House könnte dies die neue Musik der Großstadt-Clubs werden:
Gustavo Santaolalla und seine Formation Bajofondo unterlegen Tango-Melodien, in denen auch die typischen Bandoneon-Klänge nicht fehlen, mit elektronischen Beats. Eine aufregend neue Mischung, die auch durch Gruppen wir das Gotan Projekt in Europa populär wird. Zum Tanzen oder Chillen. Tango fürs 21.Jahrhundert.

Following in the footsteps of the Paris-based Gotan Project, BajoFondo is a collection of electronica/pop tracks mixing traditional tango sounds with modern dance beats, this time from Buenos Aires.
It differs from Gotan though, in that it has a much stronger club sound (which makes it incidentally, excellent music for Hustle/Tango fusion dancing).
Ultimately it may be too 'disco' for most tango dancers, but give a listen and decide for yourself.
My favorite tracks are 'Montserrat', 'En Mi/Soledad', 'El Sonido de La Milonga' and 'Mi Corazón'.

Dieses Album verdient ein "sehr gut" schon alleine durch den Track "Bruma", der sich stark von den andern auf der CD enthaltenen, teilweise sehr "house-gerichteten" Stücken abhebt.
Wer sich für Electrotango interessiert, muss dieses Album haben. Eine schöne Sache.
