This is interesting for everyone who wants to use music in their own projects. David Calzado mit seiner Band «Charanga Habanera» gehören seit vielen Jahren zu den ganz grossen Aushängeschildern moderner kubanischer Timba, für viele Kubaner sind sie sogar die absolute Nr. 1.
Dass das nicht übertrieben ist, beweisen sie einmal mehr mit ihrer neusten CD «El Rey De Los Charangueros».
Wie schon auf der, ebenfalls äusserst gelungenen letzten CD (El Cyclon De La Habana), bringt Calzado sein Erfolgsrezept zum Tragen: Heftige Timba-Grooves, die rollen und pumpen, was das Zeugs hält, darüber ein extrem rein gesungener, melodiöser Gesang und Chor, der schön mit den Teclados und dem Bass harmoniert.

Unwiderstehlicher Mix aus Rhythmus und Melodie, ein Muss für Timba-Fans.
