Palmera - Authors: Saiace, Zaida
An Argentine native born in Buenos Aires, she is a performer of classical and contemporary music. Her repertoire features many elements of Argentine and Brazilian folk music, blurring the lines between classical and pop.
She has also been performing in many European capitals since 1993. Together with Jörg Wolf, she worked for the Societätstheater in Dresden on the production “Nostalgias, Tango for Four,” and with Gerardo Gandini on Arnold Schönberg’s “Pierrot Lunaire” for the inauguration of the Center for Opera and Ballet Experiments at the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires. She has carried out projects with artists from the local and international scene, including Martín Matalón, Oscar Aráiz, Renata Schussheim, Quique Sinesi, Horacio López, Luis Borda, Pablo Mainetti, Fernando Samalea, and others.
In Spain, she participated in the live musical accompaniment for Robert Flaherty’s film “Nanook of the North.” After returning to Buenos Aires in 2005 following ten years in Germany, she composed the music for the documentary film “Estela” by Silvia di Florio, which chronicles the life of Estela Carlotto, president of the Association of Grandmothers of the Plaza de Mayo.
In March 2011, under the direction of Maestro Gil Jardim, she performed Astor Piazzolla’s Concerto for Bandoneon, Piano, and Percussion with the University of São Paulo Orchestra and Pablo Mainetti at the Ibirapuera Auditorium in São Paulo, Brazil.
In 2013, her sixth CD, *De Corea a Mozart*, was nominated for the Premio Gardel in the Instrumental Music/World Music category.
In 2026, three of their earliest albums were re-released on the Danza y Movimiento label:
