Dass die in Havana aufgenommenen Songs der neuen CD von Cubanismo in Australien vom Label AIM abgemischt und produziert worden sind, hängt mit einem Festival-Besuch von Cubanismo in Australien zusammen.
Sonst hat die CD nämlich nichts mit Australien zu tun, sondern ist pure Musica Cubana in allen Stilrichtungen (Son, Guaracha, Mambo, Bolero, Descarga).
Das ist auch zugleich die Stärke der CD, sie ist sehr abwechslungsreich und in verschiedenen Tempi gehalten.
Dadurch ist «Greetings From Havana» auch keine ausschliessliche Tanz-CD, sondern macht auch Spass beim reinen Zuhören.
Aufnahmequalität und musikalische Leistung der Band sind tadellos und mit «Idilio» hat es zudem einen ganz grossen Son-Hit auf der CD.
Wer gerne traditionelle, kubanische Musik hört, wird Gefallen finden an den Songs und die CD auch neben der Tanzfläche in den Player einschieben.
