DYM Latin News English 5/ 2002

Dear friends of hot Latin rhythms!

Today we can offer you some really exciting Salsa-CDs which have just arrived from Colombia.

At last, La Sonora Carruseles has a new album. Like "Heavy Salsa" and "Salsa Brava" the new CD "De una vez gozando" will make the dancefloor sizzle.

If you prefer to dance a little bit slower, you should go for the new CD by Quinto Mayor. Their first production "Salsa con golpe" is still very popular, and now they return with new material on "Salsa con golpe 2". Again, Diego GalÈ of Grupo GalÈ (another excellent Salsa formation - listen to the CD "En su sition") is responsible for the selection. He plays Salsa similar to the one of the 70s and 80s, thus the music is great for dancing.

Another hommage to the "old school" Salsa is the compilation "Homenaje al Grupo Niche". Artists like for example Andy MontaÒez, David PabÛn, Grupo GalÈ and Charlie Cardona present their own personal interpretations of famous originals by Grupo Niche, a band which has had an incredible influence on the Colombian Salsa scene for decades now. You better dance!

The last CD we would like to present to you is not really brandnew. Azuquita released the CD "Lo bailado nadie me lo quita" in 2001. The title track is marvellous, and there is a very good Salsa-Version of the Rocky Martin hit "1-2-3 Maria". The French bits in some of the songs are charming, "SueÒo con Cuba" a dream, indeed. Make up your own mind and listen to the tracks in our web catalogue. By the way: all the CDs have the special price of Euro 15,49.
