2. Global Mestizo


Chupacabras...

...are a young and creative band from Cologne - no, actually from all over the world! And that is precisely how their style is, which they have elaborated on two albums: as if Carribean and Latin American styles would not already make up a powerful and awesome mix, the Chupacabras add Blues, Rock, Jazz and even Polka to this incredible cocktail! The overall result is full of energy and totally distinctive. This is certainly no cheap copy of the other well-known cosmopolitan Bands a la Manu Chao! You should defintely listen to this:

La Papa Verde: 

Their music is danceable and they produe a similarly creative and colorful and totally felicitous mixture as the Chupacabras: Mestizo-CumbiaTon (with a lot of ska-rock)! Not enough similarities? La Papa Verde also was founded in Cologne and we also got two magnificent albums of theirs now available for download!
